Last day of 2015. And here I am, quietly and comfortably snuggled on my couch at home at 11.10pm. Boy, it has been such a year. The good, the bad, the ugly, the pretty. But now that I have some time to look back, I realized the good definitely outweighs the bad, and the pretty outweighs the ugly.
Learnt so much about human nature this year. Things that makes me smile, things that makes me frown, things that makes me smirk and things that causes about 1000 snarky/sarcastic remarks to race through my head. 😉 One of the hardest but best things to master in life is to not take anything too seriously. Disclaimer : This does NOT mean to take everything as a joke. 😛 But rather, learn to let go whenever needed, and laugh it off when its warranted. 🙂
After more than a year and a half of no proper exercise routine since I started working, I’ve started taking up swimming again mid of this year. Nothing too high impact like the gym classes I used to go to, but I figured, 3-4 days of 1 kilometer swim per week is a good start. Am super glad I’m slowly shifting my lifestyle back to a healthier and fitter one. Though its gonna be a long journey to get back to how I was 3-4 years ago. Hm.
I’ve also decided to officially start my YouTube channel after having fun creating my trial Christmas cover video. 🙂 If there’s one thing this year has taught me, it would be that life is too short for us to live u to other people’s expectations. Hence, I’m continuing my drums lessons. Planning to get a set of e-drums soon. Also planning to pick up a new language. Still a toss between French of Spanish. Hm. 😀
As we’re entering the new year, and I’m getting to my 30th birthday in approximately 3 months, I’ve learnt that the most important thing in life is to do things that makes you happy. Nothing else really matters. You need to be able to make yourself happy before you’re able to make others happy. And hence, I’ve decided that I’m gonna fill 2016 to the brim with things, activities and people who makes me genuinely happy and makes me look forward to life everyday.
I mean, what is life if you have nothing to look forward to? 😉
I really do. And it feels good to be back. It’s been more than a year now that I have not been blogging. Let me just put it out here that it is all due to work……. and a little bit of laziness after work… and also a whole lot of procrastination. *sheepish smile*
Hence, my new year resolution of 2016 is to go back to blogging. And hopefully stick to it this time, as blogging is really good for the soul. 🙂
FINALLY. A couple months back, I finally got the guts to buy myself a pair of drumsticks and enrolled myself to a drums class. Haha! I’ve always thought drummers are soooooo cool! And any females who play drums is pretty much awesome. Most of them anyway. Haha! Anyway, unlike the other instruments I play, drums is a little harder for me to pick up. Hence the need for proper classes instead of picking it up bit by bit like I did with the piano, bass and guitar. Those are melodic. They’re simpler, as compared to drums which goes solely on beats and groove. But I am super stoked! I hope by year end, I’m at least good enough to play some of the simpler songs well, as well as being able to improvise whenever I need to. 🙂 Fingers crossed!
Albeit there being a couple of celebrations before the actual day, today passes pretty peacefully, with my mum, which is pretty awesome since it’s been a while since I last celebrated with her on the actual day. 🙂
Took time off from work, went for buffet lunch at E&O Hotel with mum then we spend the afternoon shopping. Spoiled myself with a new bag and a new pair of sunglasses. Absolutely love them. 🙂
28 years. Looking back, I’ve come pretty far and done so much, but yet, there’s still so much more that I want to accomplish. Here’s to hoping that I can check off a couple of more things off my list. 😉 I hope this one year before my 29th birthday will be a really fruitful one, and when I look back next year, I’ll feel proud of what has been accomplished in a year and there will be no regrets.
Happy birthday, Angela. 🙂
It is not often we are able to find someone who just gets us, our jokes and our snarky comments. Not to mention, they also share almost the exact same thoughts and opinions as us. Not 100% but close enough. 😛 And I’m glad I found a friend in ‘Elmelda’ a couple of years ago. And a close friend at that. 😀
No resolutions for me this year around. Grew out of resolutions. 😛
Instead, I decided to do some planning for the year 2014. Written plans. I realized that written plans are more likely to come to pass than keeping resolutions.
Super stoked for 2014 actually! So many things planned. There’s this feeling deep down that tells me, 2014 is gonna be an awesome year where my world will be turned all around. Planning to do so many things differently this year. Also planning to start some seriously cool ‘tradition’ that I hope will go on the rest of my life. 😀
Fingers crossed that by 31 Dec 2014, I’ll be able to check off at the very least 85% of my written plans. Its not that I’m not optimistic. avoiding the 100%. I’m just being realistic. 😉
But if I have to make a choice? Definitely a walk-in-library. Without a doubt. It would be ecstasy. 🙂
